Francesca Broggian

our nonna

Nonna Francesca Broggian with a soft lemon cake.

she’s the real italian nonna

Here at Ca’ de Memi, everything begins with Nonna Francesca. She is the one who taught us the true art of hosting, a delicate balance of heartfelt smiles, generous tables, and the quiet magic of making everyone feel at home.

She is the Italian grandmother everyone wishes they had: effortlessly elegant, with a timeless flair that borders on fashion icon, and an instinctive talent for gathering people around a table. With her, food is never just food: it is a language of care, a ritual of joy, a way of bringing stories and souls together.

In every detail, in every dish, and in every welcome, you will find a trace of her spirit.

In 2026, Francesca Broggian meets chef Sergio Herman for the TV series Sergio in Italië (Sergio in Italy), a new Dutch culinary road trip show available on VTMGO+ and Netflix. Together, they prepare savoiardi and tiramisù, the classic dessert from the Veneto region.

A stylish nonna also teaches them how to make classic savoiardi, the traditional Italian ladyfingers. We chuckle when she gently scolds Herman for making a mess with a piping bag, while praising Van den Begin for his steady hands. Brava!
